Highland Family Practice
About Us
We are a group of 8 dedicated family doctors offering longitudinal, comprehensive care for families of the Comox Valley.
3 of our doctors also offer supportive pre-natal care as part of the Highland Maternity Group. Referrals are appreciated but not necessary.
Unfortunately we are not accepting new patients at this time. If you don’t have a family doctor, we recommend registering for the HealthLink BC waitlist:

*Please note we are not a walk-in clinic*
Office Policies
Masks are required if you are sick, they must be worn at all times while inside the clinic. If you have a medical exemption, please let us know ahead of time and we will accommodate you. We appreciate everyone’s understanding and consideration of others.
Telephone appointments: Although scheduled for a specific time, telephone appointments may occur later in the day if your doctor’s schedule changes without notice. If you cannot be available for up to one hour after the scheduled appointment time, we strongly recommend you book an in-person appointment instead. Please do not call the clinic to ask if your appointment was missed.
Contact Information: It is imperative that we be able to reach you, and many specialists’ offices are now requiring an email address. It is your responsibility to ensure your contact information is kept up to date with us. This can be done by phone, in office, or by email. Please email frontdeskhighland@shaw.ca with “Address Change” in the subject line.
Missed Appointments: if you need to cancel an appointment, we appreciate 24 hours notice when possible, but we understand this is not always possible. If you don’t cancel and also don’t attend your scheduled appointment, this will count as a no-show. For telephone appointments, the doctor will try calling twice, and if unable to reach you, will count this as a no-show. After two no-shows you will be mailed/ emailed a letter with our Missed Appointments policy, and notified that a third no-show may result in a fee.
Prescription renewals always require an appointment. This has always been our policy. It is important for your doctor to monitor drug efficacy and side effects on an ongoing basis. Please book renewal appointments at least 10 days before you run out. We do not fit in renewal appointments last minute.
No abuse of any kind toward our staff is tolerated.
